Jay Ian Igiel

Jay Ian Igiel, Esq., is the Senior Associate and Vice President of Legal Affairs at NAPC.


Mr. Igiel has been counsel to hundreds of corporate transactions: including: various insurance agreements, asset purchases and sales, stock purchases and sales, private financing, financial institution financing, licensing and marketing agreements, and a variety of other matters.


Mr. Igiel has been trial counsel on numerous commercial litigation matters including actions related to securities law and fraud claims involving a publicly traded company headquartered in New York; derivate actions; the enforceability of restrictive covenants; ultra vires actions by Board of Directors; breaches of fiduciary duties, ownership disputes, contract disputes; defending defamation and wrongful interference with contract claims involving a nationally known non-profit; securing a favorable opinion of first impression from the Chancery Court in Delaware related to limited liability company membership; securing a favorable opinion awarding attorney fees for the bad faith conduct of the other party; litigating patent and trademark infringement claims and successfully handling government contract disputes and protests at the regional, state and federal level, including successful protests of contract awards for the North Carolina Lottery and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority contracts.


Mr. Igiel attended George Mason University where he graduated as a University Scholar and received his degree as a political science major in 2000. Mr. Igiel was a nationally recognized debate champion at George Mason University and coached debate for several years after graduation. Mr. Igiel received his Juris Doctorate, with a regulatory law certificate, from the George Mason University School of Law in 2003.


Mr. Igiel has authored several professional publications in the areas of corporate formation, corporate law and real estate transactions, as part of continuing legal education (CLE) seminars and has been an instructor for CLE seminars.
